Privacy policy

Foodex is built to let you collect and remember dishes without turning your private meals into public data. This policy describes the current iPhone release.

Information stored on your device

Your personal Food-Dex is stored locally on your iPhone. It may include Dish Logs, original photos, transparent food stickers, ratings, notes, saved places, capture dates, and collection progress.

This information is not made public by creating a Dish Log. Removing a Dish Log creates a local deletion record so your collection can be handled consistently.

Catalogue data

Foodex downloads the current dish catalogue from a Foodex service and caches it on your device. Catalogue entries are product content, not your personal Dish Logs. A failed refresh may continue using a complete cached catalogue.

Camera, photos, and recognition

  • Camera access is used only when you choose to photograph a dish.
  • Photo Library access is limited to photos you select.
  • Current dish recognition starts with on-device image analysis.
  • Your original Dish Log photo remains private on your device in the current release.

Location

Location is optional. If you allow it for a capture, Foodex can save a place with that local Dish Log. The current release does not use your exact location for advertising or analytics.

Purchases

Apple processes App Store purchases. Foodex uses RevenueCat to check subscription entitlement, and declares purchase history as data that is not linked to you for tracking or advertising.

Analytics and advertising

The current release does not send Dish Logs, photos, profile data, or location data to an analytics service, and Foodex does not use advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking.

Your controls

You can remove individual Dish Logs, erase your local Food-Dex from Settings, revoke camera, photo, or location permissions in iOS Settings, and manage App Store subscriptions through Apple.

Future connected features

Foodex may later offer accounts, sync, sharing, or community features. We will update this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures before those features are activated in a public release. A development or preview feature is not evidence that it is active for the public.
